Centrifugal Manifolds Are a Superior Choice

Outlet manifolds in petrochemical plants collect the hot gases leaving the reaction tubes in reformer furnaces. Outlet manifolds can be expected to perform in extreme environments (up to 900ºC) for years without replacement, so resistance to creep is a critical performance feature. Manifolds have traditionally have been made from wrought alloy 800H. Over time, however, MetalTek’s 20-32Nb centrifugally cast alloy has become a material of choice for these applications. The 20-32Nb offers creep resistance superior to the wrought alloy while retaining excellent aged-ductility. This reduces long-term maintenance cost.
