Alloy Details

Alloy stainless steel 347 is a little bit well-improved corrosion resistant alloy into the strongly oxidizing atmospheres. This alloy is stabilized with tantalum and columbium and is austenitic stainless steel alloy that was developed for providing the 18/8 types alloy with a well-improved resistance ability against intergranular corrosion.

This alloy is having little bit well-improved corrosion resistance ability against other alloys of the stainless steel into the strongly oxidizing atmosphere due to the addition of tantalum and columbium. Tantalum and columbium carbide precipitate into the grain instead of grain boundary formations. Type 347 must be considered for the applications that need intermittent heating in temperature between 427 Deg C and 899 Deg C for welding under the conditions that are preventing the post-welding annealing.
