Alloy properties
This grade is combined with high tensile and impact strength. It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and has higher thermal conductivity. It has many prominent properties suitable for many structural and mechanical components. These alloy posse’s good mechanical traits in low, ambient and elevated temperatures. This alloy is processed from the annealed and quenched condition. This alloy is not recommended for application in the exposure to higher temperature up to 570 deg F, due to the increased risk of reduction in toughness. The high alloying chemistry makes it extremely resistive to uniform corrosion in organic compound environments like acetic acids and formic acids
BS 3059 Gr.360/440 Tubes provides excellent resistance to inorganic compounds, especially which has a high level of chlorides. These tubes are highly alloyed specially designed to resist concentric sulfuric acids. However, these tubes cannot be used in hydrochloric acids because of the risk of local and uniform corrosion. These tubes can be used in the moderate hydrochloric acid containing environments. Pitting and crevice corrosion is not an issue in these tubes.
